Happy Halloween From Our House To Yours!

IMG_4336

I just got a new lens and was itching to give it a whirl, so I spent a little time yesterday documenting the autumn glory that is my yard these days. I’ve never been much of a fan of fall but that seems to be changing this year. It’s hard not love all of these rich colors!

Sad little unfinished figs. Next year I’m going to study up on growing fig trees and hopefully bring it to full fruition!

This odd magnolia seed pod still has me wondering!  I didn’t see any others like it.

I found fungus here, there and everywhere!

The hydrangea bush continues to wow me with its amazing color variations.

Rebels

Why is a pile of *anything* so much more appealing than that which it is piled upon? I should know better than to leave clean laundry laying on the bed!

One Year Ago

IMG_2257

Today marks one year since I got the key to our house and got to work on making it our home. I thought this would be a good time to share some pictures of what it looked like then, and how it looks today!

Yes, the fridge is in the bathroom. It’s pretty much a big pain, but having a monstrous appliance in the kitchen would completely ruin our primary living space!

Loft

The loft is Asher’s room. I’d show current photos but his room is such a mess they’d probably ruin your day. Just imagine the paneling painted white : )

Work Space

I’m using this blog entry to unveil the new work space my friend JB built for me. Below is a photo of  how it looked a couple of weeks ago. I hated working here!

The new workspace that I love! Notice something missing??? CORDS! They’re all hidden in a little compartment built into the back of the table and inside the cabinet. It was my primary request for JB and he totally delivered. We still need to attach the keyboard shelf to the table so it’s not quite done yet, but I love the way this new arrangement makes the room feel so much bigger than it did before!

What Asher thinks of the new workspace… two thumbs up! (He fights me for this space every day. Any tips on ejecting a 166 pound man-child from a rolling office chair???)
