Every single day I am struck by my good fortune to call this lovely cottage my home. It’s a magical little place, with a sprawling yard and a notable history… all of which I love sharing with others. It seems everyone who comes to visit falls in love with the place, so I thought I would create a blog in its honor and share it much more often!
I’ve only lived here since November ‘008, but I’ve already amassed quite a collection of photographs, and I see something I want to share almost every day… you’ll be seeing lots of photos of what’s happening around here with me, Asher and our two cats in the yard, Maverick and Crash, as well as learning about the history of the house, seeing photos of the work I’ve done (am continually doing!) to it since we moved in and maybe reading some little anecdotes about living the simple life now & then : )
I’m going to start out with a few photos I took the night of our first Soulstice Celebration back in June… our first big get-together since we moved in last fall! Everyone agreed that this place is perfect for parties- especially the kids. Tire swing? S’mores? They were all over it : )
The line for rides on the tire swing ceased only after every child was gone. What a great addition to our yard it is!

Gavin thinks pretty highly of our tire swing

Big boys being brave!

I’m pretty sure the Quesada girls were taking cuts in the line… every time I came around, one of them was swinging!
I think that’s because the boys were more interested in exploring every inch of the yard…

And some were too tired to swing… or too little : )
Odie Blue Eyes

Time for s’mores!

Joaquim grubbin’ on s’mores… YUM!

The Robinson family enjoying roasted marshmallows

Too tired to swing, but not too tired for a treat, apparently!

Gotta love all the dirty faces… dirt means we’re having fun, right?

Next year Everly will get dirty too : )

Mark & Joaquim chillin’ in the hammock
Rory rocked her Soulstice shirt at the party!

I made Chloe pose for me in Miss Leah’s chair – love those vibrant colors!

JoshQ sang us some pretty songs around the campfire

And there were twinkling lights everywhere : )
